Have you ever thought about making the journey to the WW1 Battlefields? If you have always thought about it but not done anything about it well now is the time. This year is the centenary of the Battle of the Somme, one of the bloodiest battles for the British and Allied forces during the First World War. Thousands of people will make the journey to the Somme Battlefields this year to pay their respects to those that made the ultimate sacrifice for their country and you could be one of them.
Solway Tours are offering a four night, five day guided Battlefields tour from the 7th-11th September 2016. Leaving from Dumfries you will be guided by two experienced historians who are passionate about helping people to make this journey. As well as staying in the magnificent city of Ypres you will pay your respects at some of the most well known British, Allied and German cemeteries and have time to enjoy the atmosphere and culture of the city of Ypres.
